Ingredients
- 1kg Pork & Beef Mince (or your favourite Mince)
- 6–8 burger buns
- 6–8 slices cheese (cheddar or American-style)
- 1 onion, thinly sliced (optional)
- Butter or oil for cooking
- Salt & pepper
- Pickles
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Burger sauce or aioli
- Plus anymore of your favourite toppings!
Cooking Instructions
- Divide mince into 6–8 evenly sized balls (about 120–150g each). Don’t overwork them.
- Heat a pan or BBQ plate until very hot. Add a little oil.
- Place mince balls down, then smash flat with a spatula or burger press.
- Season with salt and cook for 2–3 minutes until crispy edges form.
- Flip, add cheese, and cook another 1–2 minutes.
- Toast buns in butter until golden.
- Stack burgers with your favourite toppings and serve hot
Tips:
- Smash once only — that’s how you get the crispy crust
- The pork content helps stop patties drying out
- Double up patties if you want a proper feed
