Ingredients

500g Beef Phat Burger Patties

4 burger buns of choice

1 sliced onion

200g sliced cheddar cheese

½ bag of fresh spinach leaves (or lettuce greens of choice)

2 tomatoes sliced

1 small tin of beetroot sliced

¼ cup mayonnaise

2-3 Tbsps. American mustard

2-3 Tbsps. tomato ketchup

½ cup sliced gherkins

2 Tbsp. olive oil

Salt/pepper

Cooking Instructions

Heat a pan to medium heat and add half of the oil. Add sliced onions to the pan, season with salt and pepper and cook on a medium heat for about 10-15 minutes until soft and caramelised. At the same time heat a separate pan on a medium-high heat with the other half of the oil and once hot place your beef patties in. Cook these also for about 10-15 minutes until golden and brown. Once the patties are almost cooked place your slices of cheddar cheese on top of your beef and then turn off the heat and place a lid over the top to help the cheese melt. Cut open your bun and add your mustard and tomato ketchup on the bottom and Mayo on the top. Place your burger patty with melted cheese on then caramelised onions then finish with other salad ingredients. Add more salt and pepper on top of your tomato layer. Close the lid and have fun trying to get your mouth around that bad boy! You can serve these with oven baked chips, but these burgers are PHAT so you might not need them. I struggled to finish the burger just on it own!
