Shallow Fried Beef Schnitzels (serves 4-6)

This is how to make a Schnitzel that’s extra crunchy and beautifully golden! Schnitzel can be made with pork, chicken or beef so use whatever meat you want.

4-6 servings


500g Beef Schnitzels, cut into portions

Salt and pepper to season

1/2c flour

2 eggs, whisked

1 1/2c panko breadcrumbs 

Oil for frying

Cooking Instructions

Season each schnitzel with salt and pepper. 

Place the flour, eggs and park breadcrumbs each into a separate low sided bowl. 

Coat the schnitzel in flour before dipping into the egg. Press into the breadcrumbs then transfer to a plate. Repeat with each schnitzel. 

Heat 1cm of oil in a deep frying pan over a medium-high heat. The oil is ready when a breadcrumb dropped in sizzles immediately. 

Cook each schnitzel in the oil for 3 minutes each side. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan. Transfer to a paper towel to soak up excess oil. 

Serve immediately with your sauce of choice.
